The nation’s No. 20 ranked linebacker, according to 247Sports committed to the Trojans following his official visit.
Seminole Ridge (Loxahatchee, Fla.) four-star linebacker Ty Jackson has committed to Lincoln Riley and the USC Trojans. Jackson chose the Trojans over Alabama, Florida, Florida State, Tennessee and several others.
Jackson is a three-phase type of player where he can impact you on offense, defense, and special teams as a return man. As a junior, he had two kickoff returns for a touchdown as well as catching 15 passes for 257 yards and five touchdowns.
Jackson is the 19th commit and third linebacker in USC’s recruiting class for 2025 as he joins Carrollton (Ga.) quarterback Julian Lewis, San Clemente (Ca.) linebacker Matei Taoga’i, Buford (Ga.) linebacker Jadon Perlotte, Thomas County Central (Ga.) safety Kendarius Reddick, Upland (Ca.) defensive back Trestin Castro, Oaks Christian (Ca.) defensive end Hayden Lowe, Williamson (Ala.) offensive tackle Carde Smith, Dekaney (Tx.) wide receiver Tanook Hines, Christian Brothers (Mo.) wide receiver Corey Simms, Baltimore City College (Md.) wide receiver Romero Ison, Southlake Carroll (Tx.) running back Riley Wormley, Carrollton (Ga.) defensive back Shamar Arnoux, Bellevue (Wa.) offensive lineman Willi Wascher, Dinwiddie County (Va.) running back Harry Dalton III, Oakland (Tn.) athlete Daune Morris, Douglas County (Ga.) wide receiver James Johnson, Lake Travis (Tx.) defensive lineman Gus Cordova, and Santa Margarita Catholic (Ca.) offensive lineman Elijah Vaikona.
Jackson has also become a versatile defensive player where he racked up over 100 total tackles in each of his three seasons at the high school level.
Here’s Andrew Ivins, of 247Sports’ Scouting Report on Jackson: A tackle machine on Friday nights that has shined in a combine setting. By far one of the more productive players down in South Florida for the 2025 cycle having totaled over 350 career stops heading into his senior season. Chews up turf with his burst and frequently arrives on scene ready to send a message as he drops his shoulder and unleashes plenty of power through his hips. Has proven to be rather effective in drop coverage with his instincts and can close gaps while in pursuit. Must keep evolving and improve play diagnosis as he won’t always be the best athlete on the field, but has plenty of developmental upside with his testing profile and physical play style. Projects as a potential multi-year starter for a Power Four program that can settle in as a true difference-maker at the second level. Could fit into a variety of different roles, but the ceiling is likely highest on the inside.
