The Ole Miss Rebels added a four-star safety to their 2025 recruiting cycle on Saturday afternoon.
Escambia (Fla.) four-star Ladarian Clardy, the No. 210 ranked prospect in the nation, according to 247Sports chose the Rebels over Florida State, Miami, Mississippi State, UCF, Vanderbilt, and Washington. During his recruitment process, Clardy held over 30 offers from across all power four schools.
Clardy becomes the 17th member of the Rebels’ 2025 recruiting cycle and just the second safety as he joins Lakeland (Fla.) four-star Keon Young. He also is joined by fellow four stars Lake Cormorant (Miss.) athlete Jarcoby Hopson, Holmes County (Miss.) defensive back Cortez Thomas, Oak Grove (Miss.) defensive lineman Andrew Maddox, and Baylor School (Tenn.) running back Shekai Mills-Knight.
“It was having a great relationship with Coach (Kiffin) and the rest of his coaching staff that threw me away,” Clardy said on why he chose the Rebels. Clardy wanted to honor his late brother who tragically passed away on July 1, 2021, at the age of 18, when he would have been 21 on Friday (September 20).
Clardy was named the Pensacola-News Journal Player of the Year as a junior last season where he racked up 57 total tackles (2 Tackles for loss), eight pass breakups, and four interceptions for the Gators.
So far this season, he has just 6 catches for 125 yards, a receiving touchdown on offense as well as 18 total tackles, and an interception in just three games.
Clardy’s played a fairly consistent role on defense, adding 55 tackles his sophomore year and eight tackles his freshman year in just nine games.
Escambia currently sits with a 2-2 record this season following a 38-13 loss to Mosley on Friday night.
