The nation’s No. 210 ranked prospect, according to 247Sports is one step closer to making his college decision.
Escambia (Fla.) four-star safety Ladarian Clardy will announce his collegiate decision on Saturday, September 21 at 2:00 p.m. ET on the 247Sports’ YouTube channel.
Clardy will decide between Florida State, LSU, Mississippi State, Ole Miss, UCF, Vanderbilt, and Washington.
Clardy is a 5-10 179-pounder who plays bigger than his size indicates where he applies a ton of athleticism and length in his game. He also plays with a high-motor where he gets snaps as a wide receiver as well as on special teams.
He has football in his family bloodlines as his older brother Ladarius is a current standout playing at Kennesaw State and he is the cousin of NFL wide receiver Julio Jones who played for the Philadelphia Eagles, Atlanta Falcons, and Tennessee Titans. He is also the god-brother of former NFL running back Trent Richardson who played for the Cleveland Browns and Indianapolis Colts.
Clardy had an exclusive interview with Ben Grieco, of the Pensacola News-Journal breaking down each of his final seven schools.
Clardy on Florida State: “I love the head Coach (Norvell) as he’s always fired me up. His mood never changes towards his guys.” He’s a good guy and believes in his players.”
Clardy on LSU: “LSU has always been my dream school since my recruitment process got started.” It’s DBU and I’m a defensive back guy, who wouldn’t want to go to a school that produced good defensive backs.”
Clardy on Mississippi State: “Visiting with the campus and they were so good to me and my family.” It was my first SEC offer and they’ve been seeing my talent on display since the very beginning of my recruitment process.”
Clardy on Ole Miss: “I love how they go for the best guys whether it’s in the portal or high school, they try to put together the best team to win a National Championship year in and year out.” I also have a great relationship with Coach (Kiffin) and the rest of his staff.”
Clardy on UCF: “The first time I went up there on a visit, he pulled me into his office and told me from the jump that I was a priority. “They treat me like family and have gotten to know me and my family since the beginning of my recruitment process.”
Clardy on Vanderbilt: “They’ve been treating me like I’ve known them my entire life. It’s good to hang around people you can be with for the next three to four years.” All the guys have bought in and have the same common goal, which is to win every single week.”
Clardy on Washington: “I love the way that Coach (Fisch) has been running things since he took over. All those guys have NFL experience. The coaching staff has great connections, everything seems to be pointing in the right direction over there.”
