Florida State has landed a big commitment in the Class of 2026, as Tavares (Fla.) four-star linebacker Izayia Williams announced his college decision on Wednesday night.
Williams is coming off a visit he took to Tallahassee for the Seminoles’ game against Boston College on Monday night.
Williams chose the Seminoles over Florida, Miami, Michigan, Ole Miss, Syracuse among others in his recruitment process.
With Williams committing to Florida State, he becomes the 6th member in the junior class as he is joined by Newbury Park (Ca.) four-star quarterback Brady Smigiel, Gaither (Tampa, Fla.) athlete Darryon Williams, Vero Beach wide receiver Efrem White, South Dade (Homestead, Fla.) safety Tedarius Hughes and Goleman (Hialeah, Fla.) safety Darryl Bell III.
According to 247Sports, Williams is rated the No. 9 linebacker in the nation and the No. 17 overall ranked prospect in the state of Florida for the Class of 2026.
Prior to his transfer to Tavares, Williams as a junior recorded 40 total tackles, two sacks and an interception while playing at Leesburg High School where he was also a standout on the basketball court as well as on the track.
