On Saturday evening, Columbus (Miami, Fla.) four-star defensive back Bryce Fitzgerald has announced he has committed to the University of Miami.
Fitzgerald chose the Hurricanes over Florida, Florida State, and LSU.
“Playing close to home has always been a dream come true”, Fitzgerald told Rivals.com’s John Garcia Jr.
Fitzgerald took an official visit to Coral Gables at the end of June. “Coach Jackson is my guy, he helps me with what I need” he added to Rivals.
During his junior season, Fitzgerald had 10 interceptions helping lead Columbus to the Class 4M State Championship.
Fitzgerald is the fourth defensive back to commit to the Hurricanes in the 2025 class, as he joins Mandarin (Jacksonville) safety Hylton “Drake” Stubbs, Miami Central safety Amari Wallace, and Westgate (New Iberia, Louisiana) defensive back Jabree Antoine.
Fitzgerald should be viewed as someone who can make a potential impact at the next level and play right away. According to 247Sports, Fitzgerald is the No. 18 ranked defensive back and No. 216 overall ranked player.
