Four-star shooting guard Holland Harris out of Montverde Academy has committed to Clemson, she announced on her social media Friday afternoon.
Harris chose the Tigers over Alabama, Florida, Miami, Stanford, USC and several others. She took official visits to Alabama and Clemson but has cancelled her other remaining visits, according to On3 Recruiting Analyst Talia Goodman.
“I’ve always had a good relationship with Coach (Poppie) and have dreamed about playing collegiate basketball at the Power 5 level since I was in middle school” Harris told On3Sports. When Harris revealed her final six schools back in February, Clemson wasn’t on the original finalist list.
“I wanted to go to a program where I can make an immediate impact on the court as well as off the court” Harris added.
Harris was also a key member of the USA 17U National team where she made positive plays on both ends of the floor. She is an excellent rebounder as well as capable when it comes to defending multiple positions. Offensively, Harris is a three-level scorer where she can be a primary ball-handler or play off the ball.
During the 2023-2024 season, Harris averaged 5.3 points and 5.4 rebounds per game for Montverde Academy in 28 games played, helping the Lady Eagles to a 24-4 record and winning the Chipotle High School National Championship.
