Antonio Branch Jr., a 4-star safety, out of Miami Northwestern (Fla.) High School is joining Deion Sanders and the Colorado Buffaloes when his high school career concludes.
Branch was a former Penn State commit and has decided to flip his commitment to Colorado on Monday afternoon, according to Branch’s mother.
Branch chose the Buffaloes over Auburn, FIU, Nebraska, Penn State, and several others.
Branch took an official visit to Colorado last weekend ahead of their game against Baylor, where he told On3 Recruiting Analyst Steve Wiltfong, “I would say it’s a good fit because I have the opportunity to start as a true freshman.” Who wouldn’t want to be coached by Coach (Sanders) as he played the same position, I’m playing” Branch added.
According to 247Sports, Branch is the 38th-ranked safety in the nation as well as the 57th overall ranked prospect in the state of Florida.
“I had a great relationship with defensive coordinator Robert Livingston and he was very accommodating to me and my family throughout my recruitment process.” Branch added.
With Branch’s commitment to Colorado he becomes the eighth member of the Buffaloes’ 2025 recruiting cycle where he joins Lipscomb Academy (Tn.) offensive lineman Chauncey Gooden, North Shore (Tx.) wide receiver Quanell Farrakhan Jr, Cass (Mich.) defensive back Alex Graham, Buford (Ga.) linebacker Mantrez Walker, Loveland (Colo.) athlete Zayne DeSouza, Science Hill (Tn.) tight end Corbin Laisure, and West Broomfield (Mich.) offensive lineman Jay Gardenhire.
Through three games this season, Branch has 18 total tackles, according to MaxPreps.
