Florida High School Volleyball Top 10 Rankings- Week 8


With Hurricane Milton approaching the Sunshine State, most of this week’s slate of games has been canceled and will not be made up. There is also a new No. 1 in this week’s rankings following a battle between the top two teams in the state.

The rankings are compiled by the strength of schedule, common opponents’ win-loss record, and other media outlets. Follow HSSportsFlorida on X and Instagram @hssportsfl for all your latest high school sports coverage.

The rankings are revealed every Tuesday throughout the high school volleyball season across the state of Florida. Check out below for the Week 8 poll.

#1 Winter Park (21-1)

Last Week: Defeated Orangewood Christian 3-1, Defeated Plant 3-2, Defeated Hagerty 3-0

This Week: at Trinity Catholic (Tues.), vs New Smyrna Beach (Thu.)

The Wildcats are the new No. 1 team in the HSSportsFlorida Top 10 statewide volleyball rankings. Winter Park also enters the week on a 16-match win streak dating back to August 31.

Leading the team so far this season have been sophomore middle blocker Isabel Incinelli, junior outside hitter Amelia Mancino, and junior outside hitter Sophia Stallworth.

#2 Chiles (Tallahassee) (18-1)

Last Week: Defeated Lincoln (Tallahassee) 3-0, Defeated Maclay 3-1

This Week: Defeated Wakulla, 3-0 (Mon.), at Middleburg (Tues.)

The Timberwolves have extended their match win streak to 15, with their straight-set win over Wakulla on Monday night. Leading the team so far this season are senior outside hitter Kate Stewart (TCU commit), junior setter Eva Goodson, and junior outside hitter Lindsey Smith.

#3 Plant (16-1)

This Week: vs Newsome (Canceled), vs Lake Highland Prep (Canceled)

The Lady Panthers had their 15-match win and unbeaten streak snapped with a tough five-set loss to Winter Park on October 5. So far this season, senior outside hitters Lara Matta (Mercer commit) and Maggie Dostic (Tennessee commit) are leading the team.

#4 Gulf Breeze (22-1)

Last Week: Defeated Saraland (AL) 3-0, Defeated Daphne (AL) 3-0, Defeated Niceville 2-1, Defeated Navarre 2-0

This Week: Defeated Pace 3-0 (Mon.), vs Milton (Tues.), vs Tallahassee Lincoln (Thu.)

The Dolphins are back inside the Top 5 in this week’s HSSportsFlorida statewide volleyball rankings. Leading the team so far this season have been senior outside hitter Bella Satterwhite (Arizona State commit), junior outside hitter Sydney Sutter, and junior setter Estelle Reese.

#5 Cypress Bay (16-0)

This Week: No Matches Scheduled

The Lightning enters the District 7A-15 tournament as the lone unbeaten team in Florida. Leading the team so far this season have been junior outside hitter Sophia Guzman, senior outside hitter Hunter Crawford, and senior right-side hitter Carly Port.

The Celtics swept Ocala Forest and Vanguard last week, as they check in at No. 6 in this week’s statewide volleyball rankings. Leading the team so far this season have been junior opposite Maddie Hewitson, sophomore outside hitter Ashlyn Hallick, and sophomore middle blocker Addyson Avery.

#7 Middleburg (19-4)

The Broncos are coming off a 6-1 week, including winning the Spike Awareness Classic Tournament in Jacksonville without dropping a single set. Leading the team so far this season have been senior outside hitter Brooke Forkum (Troy commit), senior libero Morgan Padgett, junior outside hitter Camden Rahn, and sophomore middle hitter Maysie Bader.

The Cougars went 4-1 last week and finished 2nd at the Bishop Moore Invitational, dropping a three-set thriller to Lake Brantley in the Championship Match. Leading the team so far this season have been senior outside hitter Izzy Russell, senior middle hitter Zoe Kirby, senior middle hitter Riley Greene, and senior Libero Katie Powers.

#9 DeLand (21-2)

The Lady Bulldogs are coming off a 3-0 week with wins over New Smyrna Beach, Hagerty, and Ocala Forest. They enter next week’s District 7A-2 tournament on a 12-match win streak dating back to September 5.

Leading the team this season have been senior setter Alison Bierwagen, and senior outside hitters Erynn Gotsch, and Ella Pringle.

#10 Boca Raton Christian (17-3)
