6-0 180-pound four-star defensive back Graceson Littleton, the No. 72 overall ranked player in Florida announced commitment on Thursday:
Wiregrass Ranch (Wesley Chapel, Fla.) four-star defensive back Graceson Littleton has announced his commitment to the University of Texas. According to 247Sports, Littleton is the No. 72 overall ranked player in the nation, the No. 11 ranked player in the state of Florida, and No. 10 ranked defensive back in the upcoming recruiting cycle.
Littleton was previously committed to Clemson since June 5, but recently de-committed where he took a pair of official visits to Michigan and Texas.
Littleton told Tom Loy of 247Sports on why he chose Texas: “I chose Texas because I feel like that’s the best fit for me. I feel like all the standards I had, including the defensive scheme, culture, environment, the nutrition program, stability, the strength and conditioning program, and opportunity, they are all there.”
“He seems like a good coach. Just sitting down with him, talking, and then joining the team in meetings, he’s a coach I’d love to learn from. I feel like playing under him will only make me better. I feel like the way he coaches, it’s only a matter of time until they get their ring,” Littleton added.
With Littleton’s recent commitment, the Longhorns move inside the Top 5 in the 247Sports Recruiting Rankings for the upcoming cycle.
Littleton becomes the 23rd commit and just the second defensive back for the Longhorns in the upcoming recruitment cycle where he joins Fort Bend Marshall (Tx.) three-star Caleb Chester who committed to the Longhorns back in June.
Here’s 247Sports Director of Scouting Andrew Ivins on Littleton: Ascending cornerback prospect with the ideal mix of size and speed. Put himself on the national radar spring before senior season, clocking a laser-timed 4.51 effort in the 40-yard dash at an Under Armour Next Camp outside of Orlando. Comfortable at this stage in press-man coverage as he fights for leverage and does his best to maintain phase while out on the perimeter. Not a ton of ball production to date (only had one interception as a junior), but is competitive when the football is in the air and will do his best to shade throwing lanes. Tries to get off blocks and will use his turbo to get across the field and make tackles in pursuit. Should be viewed as a potential multi-year starter at the Power Four level and a possible all-conference selection if he can keep progressing. Likely to find the most success in a defensive scheme that wants to man-up on the outside and get aggressive, but could also always get a look over the top with his range.
