Just a couple of weeks ago, Tavares (Fla.) four-star linebacker Izayia Williams de-committed from Florida State and re-opened his recruitment.
On Tuesday morning, Williams announced on his social media platforms that he is down to just eight schools in his recruitment process. Those eight schools feature Alabama, Florida, Kentucky, LSU, Maryland, Miami, UCF, and USC.
According to 247Sports, Williams is rated as the No. 118 in the nation, the No. 8 ranked linebacker, and the No. 19 overall ranked prospect in the state of Florida for the Class of 2026.
“I plan on having my commitment in place by next summer,” Williams told On3 Recruiting Analyst Chad Simmons.
According to MaxPreps, Williams tallied 137 tackles (22 tackles for loss), six sacks, and five pass breakups this season for the Bulldogs who finished 7-3 in 2024.
