2025 Names To Know- Part 3


The 2024-2025 High School Girls Basketball season is officially underway. These are five girls basketball prospects worth noting as we head into the season:

Kayla GreyvensteynCardinal Gibbons

The 5-10 combo guard is coming off an impressive season where she received honors as the All-Broward Small Schools Player of the Year. She averaged 19.8 points, 9.5 rebounds, 5.7 assists, and 4.3 steals per game for the Chiefs last season. Greyvensteyn is an absolute menace in the open court where she can score off the catch as well as the bounce. On the defensive end, she is active in the passing lanes where she uses her timely reaction skills to get steals turning into layups on the other end.

Sophia KaterisThe King’s Academy

The 5-11 wing has great size and is a knockdown shooter from the perimeter. Her high 3-point percentage allows her to play a versatile role whether it’s the primary guard position or play forward. She has a high basketball IQ and doesn’t force a mistake very often. Her composure and ability to play under control have shown some growth since her sophomore season.

Lauren LeeRiver Ridge (New Port Richey)

The 6-2 power forward plays a fearless game on both ends of the floor. She can hold down out on the perimeter, showing good handles and an ability to get to the paint against elite defenders. Lee’s composure and ability to handle the pressure and not get sped up was impressive. On the offensive end, Lee is a vital three-level scorer where she can score from the perimeter, the mid-range, and the interior. She is committed to playing collegiate basketball at New Jersey Institute of Technology (NJIT).

Leyla MinorDME Academy

Minor comes to the Sunshine State after playing her first three seasons of high school basketball at Norview High School in Virginia. She can play either guard position on the offensive end as well as play out on the wing. She currently holds offers from Appalachian State, Chattanooga, Howard, Penn, Radford, Stony Brook, Towson, and William & Mary.

Abby PriceGrandview Prep

The 5-11 shooting guard can set milestones every time she steps on the floor. Her stats are impressive in a lot of categories and speaks of the unselfish player she is. She can shoot the three and also pass the basketball to the open player at a high clip. Price also rebounds well from the guard position. She is committed to playing collegiate basketball at the University of Maine.
