Top 10 Quarterbacks in Florida- Class of 2026


With the high school football season coming to an end in 2024. We look ahead to the top ten quarterbacks who just finished their junior season.

#1 Trace JohnsonBuchholz (Gainesville)

Johnson was an absolute gunslinger for the Bobcats this season where he finished with 3,522 passing yards, 29 touchdowns, and 14 interceptions leading them to a 10-4 record in 2024 where the Bobcats reached the State Semifinals. Johnson currently holds offers Central Michigan, Georgia Southern, Troy, Wake Forest, and West Virginia via 247Sports. He is the son of former Florida Gators quarterback Doug Johnson.

#2 Dereon ColemanJones (Orlando)

The University of Miami commit led the Fightin’ Tigers to the State Championship game before eventually losing to American Heritage Plantation. In 2024, Coleman threw for 3,412 passing yards, 28 touchdowns, and four interceptions. He also added 455 rushing yards and eight touchdowns on the ground this season for the Fightin’ Tigers.

#3 Noah GrubbsLake Mary

The Notre Dame commit led the Rams to the State Championship game before eventually losing to Venice. In 2024, Grubbs threw for 3,024 passing yards, 37 touchdowns, and 12 interceptions for the Rams where they finished with a 12-3 record. He also had 33 carries for 146 yards and five touchdowns on the ground.

#4 Jack McKissockOakleaf (Orange Park)

McKissock had a season to remember for the Knights where he threw for 2,942 passing yards, 28 touchdowns, and just four interceptions this season. He also completed 66 percent of his passes where he led the Knights to a 9-4 record and reached the Regional Final.

#5 Sabby MeassickTohopekaliga (Kissimmee)

Meassick is approaching the 10,000-passing yard milestone for his high school career where he has been a three-year varsity starter for the Tigers. In 2024, Meassick threw for 2,939 passing yards, 23 touchdowns, and 15 interceptions. He holds offers from Colorado State, Eastern Kentucky, Florida, Georgia Southern, Marshall, and several others according to 247Sports.

#6 Eddie JordanBeachside (St. John’s)

Jordan had a breakout junior season for the Barracudas where he threw for 2,866 passing yards, 27 touchdowns, and just six interceptions. Jordan currently holds offers from Boston College, Charlotte, Georgia Southern, Georgia Tech, Houston, UNLV, and Western Michigan according to 247Sports.

#7 Timothy ColeRaines (Jacksonville)

Cole has continued to improve year-in and year-out for the Vikings where he has been a 3-year starter and led the Vikings to the State Championship game in 2024. He threw for 2,812 passing yards, 43 touchdowns, and seven interceptions before finishing the season as a state runner-up in the hands of Miami Northwestern. Cole currently holds offers from Bethune-Cookman and Florida A&M.

#8 Jayden TorresCardinal Gibbons (Fort Lauderdale)

Torres is coming off a stellar season for the Chiefs where he led them to a Regional Semifinal before losing to Booker T. Washington (Miami). In 2024, Torres threw for 2,735 passing yards, 23 touchdowns, and seven interceptions.

#9 Leon StrawderMiami Northwestern

Strawder led the Bulls to their elusive 8th football state title in school history and their first since 2019 where he threw for 326 yards and four touchdown passes in the win over Raines (Jacksonville). In 2024, Strawder threw for 2,677 passing yards, 41 touchdowns, and eight interceptions. He also had 27 carries for 205 yards and three touchdowns on the ground for the Bulls this season.

#10 Owen KleesWakulla

Klees led the War Eagles to an 8-4 record in 2024 before their season came to an end in the Regional Semifinals in the hands of Raines (Jacksonville). In 2024, Klees completed 65 percent of his passes, threw for 2,662 passing yards, 22 touchdowns, and seven interceptions. He also had 22 carries for 166 yards and two touchdowns on the ground. He is the younger brother of Haden Klees who is currently at Samford University.
