Florida High School Football: Top 15 Rankings- Week 4


The Florida high school football season wrapped up its third week of play, where many teams across the Sunshine State were in action. Plenty of movement will take place as we enter the middle of September and nearing the halfway point of the regular season.

Another exciting week of games are scheduled to take place as well as teams continue to make their run at the Florida High School Athletic Association (FHSAA) state championships that will take place December 10-13 at Pitbull Stadium in Miami.

Here is the latest Florida high school football rankings for this week:

  1. IMG Academy (2-0)

Last Week: Bye Week

This Week: at Coronado (Nevada)- Saturday

The Ascenders continue to be the top-ranked team in the Sunshine State this week where they are coming off a 35-14 win over Winslow Township (New Jersey) at the Beach Ball Classic back on August 28th.

2. St. Thomas Aquinas (2-1)

Last Week: Defeated Columbus, 42-7

This Week: vs. Western- Friday at 7:00 p.m.

The Raiders are coming off a 42-7 thumping win over Columbus, where they were led by senior quarterback Mason Mallory, throwing for 232 yards, while senior running back Isaiah Calixte added 101 yards rushing on 10 carries in the win. The Raiders have outscored the last two opponents, 114-13 since sustaining a season-opening loss to Mater Dei (California) back on August 23rd.

3. Miami Central (2-0)

Last Week: Defeated Booker T. Washington (Miami), 58-14

This Week: vs. Pompano Beach- Friday at 7:00 p.m.

The Rockets have scored 50+ points in back-to-back games to start the season, where senior quarterback Anthony McQueen has led them. Expect the Rockets to be a double-digit point favorite again this week when they’ll host Pompano Beach.

4. Chaminade-Madonna (2-1)

Last Week: Defeated American Heritage Plantation, 28-24

This Week: at Miami Edison- Thursday at 7:00 p.m.

The Lions have picked up back-to-back wins since sustaining an opening week loss to St. Frances Academy (Maryland) on August 23rd.

5. Miami Northwestern (1-1)

Last Week: Defeated Carol City, 37-6

This Week: vs. Miami Norland- Friday at 7:30 p.m.

The Bulls remain one of Florida’s top teams despite the departure of Teddy Bridgewater picking up their first win of the season against Carol City last week. The Bulls will play at Traz Powell Stadium this week when they’ll welcome Miami Norland before a showdown against Columbus on September 19th.

6. Armwood (3-0)

Last Week: Defeated Tampa Bay Tech, 28-7

This Week: at Durant- Friday at 7:30 p.m.

The Hawks made a huge statement in their win over Tampa Bay Tech last week where they held the Titans to just 165 yards of offense. Senior quarterback Rhys Brush completed 6-of-8 passes for 157 yards and a touchdown pass, as well as rushing for 95 yards and a rushing touchdown in the win over Tampa Bay Tech.

7. American Heritage Plantation (1-1)

Last Week: Lost to Chaminade-Madonna, 28-24

This Week: at Edna Karr (Louisiana)- Friday at 8:30 p.m.

The Patriots are coming off a 28-24 loss to No. 4 Chaminade-Madonna last week, despite senior quarterback Dia Bell throwing for 325 yards and three touchdown passes. Senior wide receiver Jamar Denson also had a big night finishing with 187 receiving yards on 8 catches and a touchdown.

8. St. Augustine (3-0)

Last Week: Defeated Bolles (Jacksonville), 40-35

This Week: at Riverside (Jacksonville)- Friday at 6:30 p.m.

The Yellow Jackets improved to 3-0 on the young season with a convincing 40-35 win over Bolles last week. Junior quarterback Brenton James did it with his arm, completing 22-of-26 passes for 296 yards and three touchdowns, but also did it with his legs rushing for 82 yards, on 10 carries and had a rushing touchdown.

9. West Boca Raton (1-1)

Last Week: Lost to Bergen Catholic (New Jersey), 21-14

This Week: at Seminole Ridge- Friday at 6:30 p.m.

The reigning Class 6A champion West Boca Raton Bulls went toe-to-toe in their last game against three-time defending New Jersey State Interscholastic Athletic Association (NJSIAA) champion Bergen Catholic. Senior running back Javian Mallory accounted for 66 rushing yards on 14 carries and had a rushing touchdown for the Bulls.

10. Venice (1-1)

Last Week: Defeated Bishop Verot, 27-12

This Week: vs. Port Charlotte- Friday at 7:30 p.m.

The Indians picked up their first win of the 2025 season last week, with a 27-12 win over Bishop Verot. Over the next three weeks, the Indians will play Port Charlotte, The First Academy (Orlando), and Lehigh before a huge showdown against No. 1 IMG Academy on October 3rd at Powell-Davis Stadium.
