Florida High School Football Season Extended by 1 Week

The Florida high school football season has been extended by one week, due to Hurricanes Helene and Milton. District games must be completed by Thursday, November 7.

In a press conference obtained by the Florida High School Athletic Association (FHSAA) Executive Director of Athletics Craig Damon, the high school football season has decided to extend its regular season by one week. All district games must be completed by November 7 (Thursday) with the postseason brackets expected to be released on November 9 (Saturday).

The postseason will kick off the week of November 15, with the regional semifinals on November 22, the regional finals on November 29, and the state semifinals to be played on December 6.

In previous years, the higher classifications received a bye week before their state championship games where as this year all seven classifications will play in the same week from December 11-14 at Pitbull Stadium on the campus of Florida International University.

The rural classification championship games will remain at H.G Morse Stadium, on the campus of The Villages Charter High School slated for December 6.
