As we get set for another high school football season, we will be revealing our Top 100 players to watch for in their respective classes. We will start with the senior class, followed by juniors, and then sophomores. The following players are ranked by their collegiate potential and the impact they made during the 2023 season.
#90 Dante Core– Choctawhatchee
Position: Defensive Back
Commitment: Auburn
The 6-0 two-way prospect is one of the quickest and most athletic prospects in the state of Florida as he competes in track events as well. As a junior, Core caught 10 passes for 232 yards and had two touchdowns. On the defensive end, Core picked up 22 total tackles and had two interceptions last season for Choctawhatchee as he helped lead the Indians to a 10-3 record.
#89 Bekkem Kritza– Miami Central
Position: Quarterback
Commitment: Penn State
Kritza, is listed at 6-5, 200 pounds and has a strong arm, and has a high accuracy rate. Kritza will be in his first year as a starter for Miami Central where he transferred from Fairview High School in Colorado during the off-season. Last season for Fairview, Kritza completed nearly 65% of his passes, threw for 1747 yards, 20 touchdowns, and three interceptions in just six games posting a 5-1 record.
#88 Lamar Williams– Gadsden County
Position: Offensive Tackle
Commitment: Maryland
Williams earned All-Big Bend Second Team honors last season as a junior, where he racked up 30 pancake blocks in just 9 games for Gadsden County. Williams didn’t allow any sacks last season as a junior and is poised to have an even more breakout senior season.
#87 George Mullins– South Sumter
Position: Defensive Back
Commitment: Michigan State
As a junior last season, Mullins racked up 27 total tackles and two interceptions helping lead South Sumter to an 11-2 record and reaching the 2S Regional Finals. He is also a standout on the basketball court as well where he is a vital threat with a solid mid-range game and the ability to finish at the front of the rim.
#86 Samari Reed– Monarch
Position: Wide Receiver
Commitment: Ole Miss
As a junior last season, Reed caught 56 passes for 1311 yards and 15 touchdowns helping lead Monarch to an 11-3 record reaching the 4M State Semifinals. As a sophomore, Reed was a basketball player as well where he averaged nearly five points and five rebounds per game for the Knights.
#85 Tywan Cox– Miami Northwestern
Position: Safety
Commitment: South Florida
The three-star prospect got reps at the cornerback and safety position last season where he recorded 22 total tackles and three pass break ups. Cox is also a standout on the track where he currently holds the school record in the 200-meter dash (21.13 seconds) as well as the 400-meter (46.43 seconds).
#84 Joshua Patterson– Ed White
Position: Safety
Commitment: Iowa State
The 6-1 175-pound safety is rated as a 3-star, according to 247Sports and multiple recruiting services. Patterson can often at times play the wide receiver position where he caught 7 passes for 172 yards and three touchdowns for the Commanders as a junior last season. On the defensive end, Patterson recorded 19 total tackles, four pass breakups, and three interceptions helping lead Ed White to a 7-5 record.
#83 Tae’shaun Gelsey– Riverside (Jacksonville)
Position: Wide Receiver
Commitment: Florida
The 6-4 215-pound wide receiver is rated as a 3-star, according to 247Sports and multiple recruiting services. Last season, Gelsey caught 48 passes for 859 yards and had nine touchdowns. He also put up some prolific numbers on the basketball court as a sophomore where he averaged 9.6 points and 6.6 rebounds per game.
#82 Tony Kinsler– Spruce Creek
Position: Wide Receiver
Commitment: Pittsburgh
Kinsler is a standout on the gridiron as well as on the track where he ran the 100-meter dash in 11.25 seconds as well as the 400-meter in 50.68 seconds as a junior last season. He is a dynamic weapon on the football field where he caught 64 passes for 1063 yards and 12 touchdowns through the air. Kinsler also recorded 24 carries for 322 yards and four touchdowns for the Hawks last season.
#81 Gavin Jenkins– Union County
Position: Defensive Back/Wide Receiver
Commitment: Toledo
The future Toledo Rocket is a two-way prospect where he can line up as a receiver or defensive back. As a junior, Jenkins caught 22 passes for 408 yards and six touchdowns. He also recorded 13 total tackles and four interceptions, including two returned for a touchdown. He is also a dynamic player on the basketball court as well where he averaged 14.3 points, 3.9 rebounds, and 3.0 steals per game for the Fightin’ Tigers last season.
